Small PBX in a Little Box

Any time, Anywhere, Call Free!

It's not a dream! A PBX system in a small box, [LittlePhonebox]® is all you need for your home or small business. With a google account, you can also make free calls to any landline or cell phone number within the US and Canada and get low rates for other countries. You can make all the phone calls with a VOIP phone set or a traditional phone set with an adapter.

Imagine the following situations:

LPBController 1.0.102 is released

This is a bug fix release version of LPBController. Two bugs existing in the earlier version (1.0.101) have been fixed. The first one is related to deleting phone line. In the old version, the phone line setting cannot be deleted cleanly. That is reason you may see it comes back when you restart LPBController. The second bug is related to messing up phone line usage for different extensions. Because of this bug, you may find it is hard to assign different extensions with different phone lines you added to the system. Now, this problem has been solved.

Fax with LittlePhoneBox through Google Voice: a Zero Cost Solution

I purchased a fax machine last week: Brother FAX-575. Well, who are still using fax? Are the email attachments not enough? Do not forget that fax is still very common in the business world. And it is quite convenient to use fax in many situations.  In my case, the machine itself only costs about $10 after mail-in rebate. So, why not?

What a Real "Unlimited" Means

I went to a local shopping mall today and noticed Vonage, a major VoIP service provider, set up a booth there promoting its recent offer: $14.99/month for 3 months and then $25.99/month for unlimited calling to about 80 countries. Sound impressive, right?

Ring Home Phone From Web

If you have your own blog or are maintaining your own website, you may like to have your website visitors call you without disclosing your phone number. Well, there are technologies allowing direct calling through web browser. But most of them are not free and need to install some applications on server side, which are not suitable for most of the bloggers and small website owners.
